You can use the wiring from the Air flow meter (that you no longer need) to connect up the MAP sensor to the ECU. The external MAP sensor can be placed anywhere in the engine bay but keep in mind you will need to run wiring and a boost line to this one. The MAP sensor is built into the ECU so no wiring at all involved. O.K so with the Link: You CANNOT use the MAF that is factory fitted to the car (well there is no preset setup for it) so can ditch the factor Air flow meter that sits after the air filter and run a boost line (from the manifold - post throttle body, DO NOT run a line pre throttle body) to the ECU for your initial setup. For this reason MAF's are supposed to be more accurate (given everything being setup and running right). ECMLink provides enhanced logging functionality (MUCH faster than factory) and all the tuning tools you need to run any number of different configurations from bone stock cars on a stock MAF to 11-second road course beasts. MAF sensor actually calculates air flowing past a certain point to calculate the same things. Overview: ECMLink is our next generation tuning and logging tool for the 90-99 DSMs and 92-95 Lancer EVO 1-3 platforms. MAP Sensor uses manifold pressure (boost/vacuum) to calculate engine load and how much fuel to add and what timing etc. Ignition control to 0.1 degree, fuel to 0.Air fuel ratio is done with a wideband o2 sensor (it is also done on the car from factory with a Narrowband sensor that is only able to read a 'narrow' range of A/F ratio's), this shows how much air and fuel have been used in the comubstion cycle.40 MHz Specialised Engine Management Microprocessor.Supported Engines - 1UZFE VVTi Subaru AVCS EVO 9 VVT BMW VANOS Toyota 3SGE, 1ZZ, IJZ, 2NZ, 2JZ Honda K20 Nissan VQ35 Ford V8 Holden V6.3D Tables with configurable X and Y axis controls.Closed Loop Idle Speed Control (Solenoid or Stepper (4 & 6 Terminal)).

Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control.Unused ignition and injection outputs available as auxiliary outputs. This can be re-wired and programmed in the Link Plug-in to control intercooler water spray (if added) for example. Purge control may be in the standard set-up. Output drives can be altered from OEM configuration. Supports nearly all OEM trigger patterns and custom trigger arrangements.
